The ISCAR 3399000 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling operations in metalworking and precision machining applications. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and three flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral configuration with a 45-degree helix angle. The variable index geometry reduces vibration and chatter at the cutting edge, while the DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating improves wear resistance and lubricity. Built from submicron carbide grade material, this end mill is suited for demanding finish and semi-finish milling work. A licensed machinist or CNC operator typically installs and runs this tool.
This end mill fits standard 3/8 inch toolholders and collet chucks used on vertical machining centers, CNC knee mills, and manual milling machines. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry into workpiece material. The single-end design with a 3/8 inch shank diameter and 3 inch overall length makes it compatible with a wide range of spindle setups in job shop and production environments. It is well-suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for standard 3/8 inch collet chucks and shrink-fit or hydraulic toolholders on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is locked out before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth before tightening. Do not use the tool beyond its rated length of cut, as deflection and edge breakage risk increase significantly with excessive axial depth.
