The ISCAR 3398567 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal in roughing and finishing operations. It features a 1/4 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius and five flutes arranged in a variable index, right-hand spiral configuration. The cutting length is 0.75 inches with an extended reach of 2.125 inches and an overall length of 4 inches. The tool carries an AlTiCrSiN PVD coating applied by physical vapor deposition, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection during high-speed cutting. It is part of ISCAR's ECI-5-VF series and is manufactured from submicron-grade solid carbide. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary users of this end mill.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The extended reach geometry makes it appropriate for deep-pocket and slotting applications where standard-length tools cannot reach. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard toolholders and collet systems used on vertical and horizontal machining centers. It is well suited to job shops and production environments running ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. The short flute-length-to-reach ratio supports rigidity in tight setups.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with machining center setups running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. ISCAR catalog number ECI-5 .25-.5/2.13C.03VF4.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on fine-tolerance carbide tooling.
