The ISCAR 3398525 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and five flutes with a 38-degree right-hand helix angle. The variable index geometry reduces chatter and improves surface finish consistency. A TiAlCN coating provides thermal and wear resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. The shank diameter matches the cutting diameter at 3/8 inch, and the overall length is 3 inches. This tool is intended for machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC mills and machining centers.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials where a high-flute-count, coated carbide tool delivers an advantage. The centercutting capability allows for plunge entry. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. It is a single-end tool packaged individually. Typical applications include production machining, mold work, and precision die cutting in both job-shop and production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting 3/8 inch shank end mills in standard collet chucks or end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder and torque the set screw or collet nut per the holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the tool for chips or edge damage before each use and confirm runout with a dial indicator when precision finishing is required.
