The ISCAR 3398443 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding material removal in production machining environments. The tool features a 0.75 inch diameter, a 3.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in interrupted or continuous cuts. A five-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with variable index geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes. The AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides thermal and oxidation resistance, making the tool well-suited for aggressive feed rates in tough workpiece materials. The extra-long profile and extended reach of 3.25 inches give machinists access to deep pockets and tall workpiece features without sacrificing rigidity.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines across job shop and production environments. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance mounts directly into standard collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, or hydraulic toolholders. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before mounting in the spindle. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout in a five-flute variable-index tool will unevenly load individual flutes and accelerate wear. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and axial depth of cut against the ISCAR ECI-5-VF series cutting data before first use.
