The ISCAR 3398204 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal in roughing and finishing operations. It features a 3/4-inch cutting diameter, a 4-inch length of cut, and a 0.09-inch corner radius that helps reduce edge chipping and extend tool life on difficult materials. The 7-inch overall length and extended reach design make it well suited for deep-pocket and tall-workpiece applications. An AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection. The variable index geometry on the four flutes helps suppress chatter during aggressive cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary users of this tool.
The 3398204 is built for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its extra-long reach and centercutting capability allow it to plunge and interpolate in tight cavity work without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard toolholders precisely, making it appropriate for high-speed CNC milling centers running finish-critical or near-net-shape programs where surface quality and dimensional accuracy are both required.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the ISCAR ECI-4-VF series (catalog number ECI-4 750-4.0C09VF7). Suitable for CNC milling centers running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool-change position is engaged before loading or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout at the cutting tip with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, and confirm cutting parameters match the workpiece material and coating requirements specified in the ISCAR ECI-4-VF application data.
