The ISCAR 3398158 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Part of the ECI-4-VF series, it features a 5/8 inch diameter, a 1-3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. A variable index design helps reduce harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. The AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection suited to hard, abrasive workpiece materials. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments.
This end mill is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The extended reach geometry and medium-length flute configuration make it well suited for peripheral milling, profiling, and slotting operations where tool deflection must be minimized. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance is compatible with standard collet chucks and toolholders used on vertical machining centers and CNC mills.
Designed for use with standard collet chuck or shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 5/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with vertical machining centers and CNC mills running right-hand spindle rotation. Manufacturer catalog number ECI-4 625-1.75C06VF4.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool change is performed according to the machine tool manufacturer's safe toolchange procedure before handling the cutter. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before mounting; a damaged edge on a carbide end mill can fracture under cutting load.
