The ISCAR 3398057 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking environments. It carries a 1-inch cutting diameter, a 2-inch length of cut, and a 0.015-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge. The tool features four flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration with a variable index geometry, supporting both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. An AlTiCrSiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection. This end mill is part of the ISCAR ECI-4-VF series and is intended for use by machinists and CNC programmers working with challenging workpiece materials.
This end mill is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. Its short-length, extended-reach geometry and variable index pitch make it well suited to high-feed roughing and semi-finish passes in vertical or horizontal machining centers where chatter control and chip evacuation are priorities. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance mounts directly into a standard toolholder. Single-end, centercut design allows plunge entry.
Designed for use with a standard toolholder accepting a 1-inch straight-cylindrical shank with h6 diameter tolerance. Part of the ISCAR ECI-4-VF series; manufacturers catalog number ECI-4 1.0-2.0C015VF4.5.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool turret or carousel is indexed to a safe position before handling the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on variable-index geometry tools.
