The ISCAR 3398053 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. It carries a 1-inch milling diameter, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 0.015-inch corner radius. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry is coated with AlTiCrSiN via a PVD process, providing thermal resistance and edge durability at elevated cutting speeds. The variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. Overall length is 4 inches with a 1-inch straight-cylindrical shank held to an h6 tolerance. This tool is suited for roughing and finishing operations and is installed by machinists working on CNC machining centers.
This end mill is designed for use across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It belongs to the ISCAR ECI-4-VF series, which targets short-reach, high-rigidity applications. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. The extended-reach configuration and straight shank make it compatible with standard toolholder setups on vertical and horizontal machining centers in both job-shop and production environments.
Part of the ISCAR ECI-4-VF series. Designed for use with standard cylindrical-bore toolholders. The manufacturers catalog number for this configuration is ECI-4 1.0-1.5C015VF4. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged toolholder bore and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturers specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before engaging the workpiece, as excess runout accelerates edge wear on variable-index geometries.
