The ISCAR 3398030 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal-cutting applications in machining centers and CNC milling operations. It features a 1/2-inch diameter with a 0.015-inch corner radius, a 7/8-inch length of cut, and a 6-inch overall length. The AlTiCrSiN PVD coating delivers elevated heat and wear resistance during high-speed roughing and finishing passes. The variable index geometry reduces harmonic vibration, improving surface finish and tool life across a range of workpiece materials. Installed by machinists and tooling specialists, this end mill is suited for shops running production or precision work on ferrous and hard materials.
This end mill is designed for use across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its single-end, centercutting design supports plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. The extended reach configuration, with a 4.125-inch reach length, makes it suitable for deep-pocket milling and applications where clearance between the toolholder and workpiece is critical. It mounts in a standard straight-cylindrical toolholder using the 1/2-inch shank with h6 tolerance for precise fitment.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch shank diameter with h6 tolerance. Manufacturer catalog reference: ECI-4 500-875/4.12C015VF6, part of the ISCAR ECI-4-VF series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the machine tool manufacturer's spindle and toolholder specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all motion axes are at rest before loading or unloading the end mill. Verify toolholder collet or chuck condition and confirm proper seating depth before tightening. Consult the applicable machine tool and toolholder documentation for runout tolerances and clamping procedures.
