The ISCAR 3387264 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert from the Tang-Grip series, designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 1/8 inch cutting width with a 1/64 inch corner radius and a neutral, 7-degree lead angle. The insert is coated with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN finish, which provides heat resistance and extended edge life in a wide range of workpiece materials. The HF chipbreaker geometry promotes reliable chip control in finishing and light-duty grooving applications. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert into compatible Tang-Grip toolholders as a direct replacement unit.
This insert is suited for grooving, parting, and cutoff operations on CNC lathes in both production and job-shop environments. The 7-degree neutral lead angle makes it applicable across a variety of turning setups where a straight cutting action is required. The IC1010 grade, combined with the PVD TiAlN and TiN coating, performs well on steel, stainless steel, and other materials that generate significant cutting heat. It is packaged and sold individually, making it a practical single-unit replacement for worn or chipped inserts in the TAG N3HF tooling family.
Designed for use with Tang-Grip series toolholders that accept the TAG insert style in size code 3. Verify toolholder pocket specifications against the TAG N3HF insert geometry before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a full stop, locked-out, and de-energized state. Seat the insert fully into the Tang-Grip toolholder pocket and confirm secure clamping before resuming any cutting operation. Inspect the pocket and clamping surfaces for chips or debris prior to seating a replacement insert, as contamination can cause improper seating and premature edge failure. Follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for clamping torque and insert indexing procedures.
