The ISCAR 3335771 is a replaceable carbide drill tip designed for use with compatible H3P-series modular drill bodies. Manufactured from solid carbide with a submicron grain material grade, this tip carries a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process for enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability. The tip features a 135-degree point angle, three helical flutes, and a web-thinned geometry to reduce thrust forces and improve chip evacuation. It is installed by clamping into a seat size 22 interface and conforms to ISO 13399 standards. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians install this type of tip in production and job-shop environments where repeatable hole quality and fast tip changes are required.
This drill tip is suited for hole-making and drilling operations in steel and cast iron as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The IC908 grade and TiAlN coating make it well-matched to interrupted cuts and high-speed drilling in ferrous materials. It fits the H3P modular drill system and is identified by ISO number H3P 222-IQ. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling on CNC machining centers and turning centers where indexable drill tip systems are used to minimize downtime.
Designed for use with H3P-series modular drill bodies using a seat size 22 interface, identified by ISO number H3P 222-IQ. Compatible drill bodies must accept the H3P insert geometry and clamp-style holding method.
Installation and indexing of replaceable drill tips should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians following the drill body manufacturer's torque and clamping procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is removed from the machine before changing tips. Clean the seat and clamping surfaces before seating the new tip to ensure accurate location and secure clamping. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool manufacturer guidelines during tool changes.
