The ISCAR 3317925 is a solid carbide milling insert in the H690 HELIDO series, carrying the ANSI designation H690 WNMU 0705PNR-RM IC810. The insert features a trigon (WNMU) shape with a neutral hand orientation, a negative rake, and six available cutting edges on a double-sided body. It is coated with an AlTiCrN and TiN multilayer finish applied via PVD — specifically ISCAR's Sumotec PVD classification — which provides heat and wear resistance suited to interrupted and continuous milling. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.276 inches (7.00 mm) and a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (0.80 mm), this insert is built for precision face and shoulder milling on steel and cast iron workpieces.
This insert is designed for use in milling operations targeting steel (ISO material code P) and cast iron (ISO material code K). It seats into H690-07 series cutter bodies via screw-clamping and is appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes where a chamfered and honed cutting edge geometry with the RM chip breaker is advantageous. Typical installation environments include CNC machining centers in job shop, production, and toolroom settings. The six-edge configuration extends tooling economy across the insert's service life.
Designed for use with H690-07 series milling cutter bodies. Cutter series compatibility is listed as H690-07. Refer to the ANSI code H690 WNMU 0705PNR-RM IC810 and ISO code H690 WNMU 0705PNR-RM when cross-referencing compatible toolholders.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Secure the insert using the designated clamping screw for the H690-07 cutter body; ensure the seating pocket is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Disengage machine power and follow lockout/tagout procedures before changing inserts. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut or feed rate specifications published by the cutter body manufacturer.
