The ISCAR 3105213 is an indexable square-shoulder face mill designed for high-efficiency milling of shoulders and faces in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built around the Helitang series platform, this arbor-mount cutter accepts six T490 LN.T 1607 style inserts arranged at a 0/90 degree lead angle for true 90-degree shoulder milling. The cutter body measures 2.5 inches in cutting diameter with a maximum depth of cut of 0.63 inches and an overall height of 1.75 inches. Through-coolant capability is supported via a 0.78-inch coolant hole, keeping insert temperatures controlled during continuous cuts. Machinists and tool-and-die shops running CNC vertical or horizontal machining centers are the primary users of this tool.
The 3105213 is suited for square-shoulder milling operations on machining centers where a 1-inch arbor hole mount is used. The fine-pitch, 6-flute configuration supports stable chip loads in medium to light material removal applications. The right-hand cutting direction and 0/90 lead angle make it well-matched to operations requiring tight, perpendicular shoulders. Insert retention is handled via clamp and screw, a standard method in this cutter class that allows fast indexing in production environments. This cutter complies with ISO standards and is intended for professional machining applications.
Compatible inserts include T490 LNHT 160708PNR, T490 LNHT 160712PNR, T490 LNHT 160716PNR, T490 LNHT 160724PNR, T490 LNHT 160732PNR, T490 LNMT 1607PN-R, and T490 LNMT 1607PN-R-CS. Cutter style is T490 FLN-08. Mounts to a 1-inch arbor hole with a 0.375-inch keyway width and 0.219-inch keyway depth.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists on CNC or manual machining centers with a compatible 1-inch arbor. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the cutter body. Confirm insert seating and clamp screw torque per the insert manufacturer documentation before initiating a cut. Through-coolant lines should be verified for proper flow and pressure before production runs.
