The ISCAR 2896671 is an internal left hand indexable grooving toolholder in the ChamGroove series, designed for precision internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built from solid carbide, this MGCH-style toolholder accepts GIQ. 11.. series inserts secured by a screw clamping method. It covers a groove width range of 0.5mm to 5.00mm, with an 8mm shank diameter and an overall length of 125mm. The toolholder is rated for universal workpiece materials, making it suitable across a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous applications. Installation and insert changes are handled by qualified machinists and toolroom technicians.
This toolholder is suited for internal non-face grooving in both production and job-shop turning environments. Its left hand cutting direction and internal orientation make it appropriate for bore grooving operations where access and clearance require a left hand configuration. Compatible workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, general steel, and superalloys. The ChamGroove series is designed for repeatable, close-tolerance groove profiles in internal diameters on horizontal and vertical turning machines.
Designed for use with GIQ. 11.. series inserts, including GIQL 11-0.75-0.00, GIQL 11-0.85-0.00, GIQL 11-0.95-0.00, GIQL 11-1.20-R060, GIQL 11-1.80-R090, GIQL 11-15-1.50-0.05, GIQL 11-15-2.00-0.10, GIQL 11-15-2.00-R100, GIQL 11-15-2.50-0.20, GIQL 11-15-2.50-R125, GIQL 11-15-3.00-R150, GIQL 11-2.00-R100, and GIQL 11-A. Compatible insert size code is GIQR/L 11/11-15.
This toolholder is installed and serviced by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts or mounting the toolholder. Verify shank diameter and bore fit before installation to ensure proper seating and runout control. Follow the machine tool manufacturer torque guidance for the toolholder clamping screws and consult applicable shop safety procedures before operation.
