The ISCAR 2801218 is a cutoff and grooving support blade designed for use with indexable inserts in metal cutting operations. Built for left-hand cutting direction, this blade accepts a 0.252-inch (6.40 mm) wide insert and delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.6299 inches (16.00 mm). It belongs to the Cut Modular Grip series, which uses a modular interface to secure the insert head assembly to the blade body. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians install this blade on lathes and turning centers where precise parting and external grooving operations are required.
This support blade is suited for external grooving and cutoff applications on CNC lathes and conventional turning equipment. The left-hand cutting orientation positions the blade for specific spindle rotation and tool post configurations common in production and job-shop environments. With a blade height of 1.181 inches (30.00 mm) and an overall blade length of 1.654 inches (42.00 mm), it fits standard toolholding systems that accept Cut Modular Grip series components. A head length projection of 0.205 inches (5.20 mm) keeps overhang minimal for rigidity during cutoff passes.
Designed for use with indexable insert heads in the ISCAR Cut Modular Grip series. Compatible inserts and heads must match the 0.252-inch (6.40 mm) insert width specification. Confirm modular interface compatibility with your existing toolholder system before ordering.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with indexable tooling systems. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all motion is locked out before removing or installing the blade. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping procedures for the Cut Modular Grip interface. Verify tool centerline height and cutting direction match the lathe configuration before initiating a cut.
