The ISCAR 2301918 is a single-end, neutral-cutting indexable cutoff blade from the Tang-Grip series, designed for grooving, parting, and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It measures 110 mm overall length, 17.4 mm in blade height, and 2.5 mm in blade width. The blade accepts TAG-style inserts with a 2.80 mm minimum insert width and supports insert widths up to 3.50 mm. It uses a clamp-style insert holding method for secure, repeatable insert positioning under interrupted cuts and high feed rates. This blade is built to ISO 13399 standards, making it compatible with tool management systems that rely on standardized cutting tool data.
The ISCAR 2301918 suits grooving, parting, and turning applications in production turning environments, including automotive, aerospace, and general machining shops. It handles workpieces up to 2.36 inches in maximum diameter. The single-end, neutral cutting geometry makes it appropriate for straight-in parting and shallow grooving operations on bar work and chucked components. Machinists and CNC programmers working with ISCAR Tang-Grip tooling systems will find this blade a direct fit within their existing toolholders designed for the TGFS blade style.
Compatible inserts include: TAG L3C-15D, TAG L3C-6D, TAG L3J-15D, TAG L3J-6D, TAG L3JS-6D, TAG N3A, TAG N3C, TAG N3CB, TAG N3J, TAG N3JS, TAG N3JT, TAG N3LF, TAG N3M, TAG N3UT, TAG N3W, TAG R3C-15D, TAG R3C-6D, TAG R3C-8D, TAG R3J-6D, and TAG R3JS-6D. ISCAR catalog number for this blade is TGFS 5-17-3.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before seating or removing inserts, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate ISCAR Tang-Grip torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the manufacturer-specified feel — do not overtighten. Verify insert seating and blade-to-toolholder alignment before resuming cuts, and confirm workpiece diameter does not exceed the 2.36-inch maximum to avoid blade contact with the chuck or collet.
