It accepts TAG-series inserts secured by a clamp-style insert holding method, providing rigid support during interrupted cuts and high-feed passes. The toolholder handles groove widths from 0.071 to 0.098 inches and allows a maximum depth of cut of 0.69 inches. With a square shank measuring 0.75 inches by 0.75 inches and an overall length of 4.5 inches, it fits standard tool post and gang-style turret setups common in production turning environments. Certified to ISO 13399 standards, this holder is suited for machinists and tool-crib personnel sourcing a reliable OEM-grade grooving solution.
This toolholder is intended for external grooving and cutoff applications on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in both job-shop and production turning settings. The TGTR style designates right-hand orientation, making it appropriate for standard spindle-rotation configurations where the tool approaches from the front of the turret. It is compatible with a defined range of TAG insert grades and geometries, allowing the machinist to select the correct insert for the material and surface finish requirement without changing the holder. No coolant-through feature is present, so external flood or mist coolant delivery is recommended for heat-sensitive materials.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret or tool post. Seat the shank fully in the pocket and tighten clamping screws to the machine tool manufacturer's specified torque sequence. Inspect the insert seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new TAG insert to ensure accurate tool-height alignment and prevent premature insert failure.
