The ISCAR 2301375 is an indexable grooving and cut-off toolholder in the Do-Grip series, designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It accepts DG-series inserts held by a clamp mechanism and accommodates groove widths from 0.189 to 0.197 inches, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.5 inches. The left-hand configuration suits specific spindle orientations and machine setups where right-hand holders are not practical. The toolholder style is DGT and the shank measures 1 inch in height by 1 inch in width with an overall length of 6 inches. This holder is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The ISCAR 2301375 is used in external grooving and cut-off applications on metal workpieces in both production machining and job-shop turning operations. The Do-Grip series is widely applied in industries requiring precision groove geometry and clean parting cuts. The left-hand hand-of-holder designation makes this toolholder appropriate for machines with specific turret orientations or sub-spindle arrangements where standard right-hand tooling cannot be used. Compatible inserts span multiple DGN and DGR insert families, providing flexibility across a range of groove profiles and workpiece materials.
Compatible insert size codes include DGN-LF/LFT, DGN-MF, DGN-P, DGN-UT/UA, DGN-WP, DGN-Z, DGN/DGNC/DGNM-C, DGN/DGNM-J/JS/JT, DGR-P, DGR-WP, DGR-Z/ZS, DGR/L-C, DGRC/LC-C, and DGR/L-J/JS. Specific compatible insert part numbers include DGL 5003C-4D, DGL 5003J-4D, DGN 4803C, DGN 4803J, DGN 5003C, DGN 5003J, DGN 5003JT, DGN 5003UT, DGR 4800CS-4D, DGR 4800CS-8D, DGR 4800JS-4D, DGR 4800JS-8D, DGR 4803C-4D, DGR 4803C-8D, DGR 4803J-4D, and DGR 4803J-8D.
This toolholder is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Before mounting or indexing inserts, power down and lock out the machine spindle in accordance with facility lockout/tagout procedures. Torque the insert clamp screw using the manufacturer-supplied torque key only; do not use substitute tools that may strip the clamp mechanism. Verify shank seating and overhang length against the machine turret specifications before first use to avoid interference or chatter.
