The ISCAR 2300517 is a single-end, right-hand indexable cutoff and grooving blade designed for use on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the SGFH blade style, it measures 26 mm high, 3.2 mm wide, and 110 mm in overall length, accepting GF-series inserts at a 4 mm insert width via a Self Grip clamping method. The Self Grip system mechanically locks the insert in place under cutting load, eliminating the need for a separate clamping screw and reducing insert changeover time. This blade suits machining operations including grooving, parting, and turning, and is dimensioned to a maximum workpiece diameter of 3.15 inches. Manufactured to ISO 13399 standards, it delivers consistent insert seating and reliable geometric repeatability across production runs.
This blade is intended for shop floor use by machinists and CNC tool-setup technicians working in job shops, production machining cells, or tool rooms. It is applicable to grooving, parting-off, and external turning operations on workpieces up to 3.15 inches in diameter. The 4 mm insert width and 21.40 mm cutting height define the depth-of-cut envelope. The right-hand cutting direction and single-end configuration make it suited for conventional lathe orientation where the tool post feeds from right to left across the workpiece face.
Designed to accept GF-series inserts at a 4 mm insert width within the ISCAR Self Grip system. Compatible insert width range is 3.54 mm to 4.52 mm. Refer to the ISCAR catalog number SGFH 26-4 for cross-reference to applicable insert grades and geometries.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Before mounting the blade, ensure the lathe or turning center is fully powered down and in a locked-out state per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the GF-series insert fully into the Self Grip pocket before engaging the spindle; never run the spindle with a partially seated insert. Verify tool overhang and clamping torque on the tool holder per the machine tool manufacturer specifications before commencing a cut.
