The IRWIN 4935105 is a 1/8 inch high speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal, wood, plastic, and composite materials. It features a 135-degree, 4-facet split point that reduces walking on entry without requiring a center punch, and a bright uncoated finish suited for dry or low-heat drilling operations. The straight cylindrical shank and regular spiral flute geometry make it compatible with standard 3-jaw chucks on corded drills, cordless drills, and drill presses. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-3/4 inch flute length, this bit is sized for typical through-hole and blind-hole work encountered on the jobsite or in the shop.
This drill bit is used across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical trades for tasks such as drilling pilot holes for sheet metal screws, anchor bolts, conduit knockouts, and access panel fasteners. It performs in light-gauge steel, aluminum, copper, PVC, and wood framing. The 1/8 inch diameter is a common pilot and clearance size referenced in fastener installation across residential and commercial service work. Sold individually as a single-piece replacement to restock tool pouches or service kits.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style replacement jobber drill bit fitting any standard 3-jaw chuck that accepts a 1/8 inch straight shank.
Install and remove drill bits only with the drill or drill press power disconnected or the tool locked out. Secure the workpiece before drilling to prevent spinning or shifting. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling ferrous metals to extend bit life and reduce heat buildup. Dispose of worn bits properly, as dull HSS tooling increases torque load and raises the risk of bit breakage.
