The IRWIN 373003 is a hole saw mandrel designed to drive hole saws ranging from 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches in diameter. The mandrel features a 3/8 inch hex shank that seats securely in standard drill chucks, transferring torque to the saw without slippage. At 0.48 pounds, it is lightweight enough for extended overhead or side-wall drilling without adding fatigue. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, and general contractors rely on this type of mandrel when boring large-diameter holes through wood, drywall, and light-gauge materials during rough-in and fixture installation.
This mandrel is suited for residential and light commercial trade work where a wide range of hole saw sizes must be run from a single driver. The 1-1/4 to 6 inch compatibility range covers common trade applications including electrical box cutouts, plumbing stub-out holes, HVAC duct penetrations, and lockset bores. The 3/8 inch hex shank fits standard 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch drill chucks commonly found on corded and cordless drills used in the field.
Designed for use with hole saws measuring 1-1/4 inches to 6 inches in diameter. Compatible with standard 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch drill chucks on corded and cordless drills.
Install the hole saw onto the mandrel arbor and tighten the setscrew firmly before use. Insert the 3/8 inch hex shank into the drill chuck and tighten securely. Always wear eye protection and secure the workpiece before drilling. Follow applicable safety guidelines for the material being cut.
