The IRWIN 1502L3 is a long nose locking pliers designed for gripping, clamping, and holding work in tight or hard-to-reach areas. Built from nickel chromium alloy steel, these pliers deliver the structural durability required for repeated use in demanding trade environments. At 9 inches in overall length, the extended jaw profile gives HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and pipefitters the reach needed to work in confined spaces. The locking mechanism holds clamping force without continuous hand pressure, freeing the technician to focus on the task. This tool is sold as an individual unit.
The 1502L3 is suited for general mechanical and trade work where standard pliers cannot maintain grip on irregular or rounded workpieces. Common applications include gripping stripped fasteners, clamping tubing or conduit during assembly, and holding fittings in place during soldering or brazing operations. The long nose jaw profile makes it practical for reaching into junction boxes, equipment cabinets, and tight mechanical assemblies where a full-size locking pliers would not fit.
Designed as a general-purpose long nose locking pliers for use across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical trade applications.
No installation is required for hand tools. Before using locking pliers near energized components, confirm power is isolated in accordance with NFPA 70E lockout/tagout procedures. Adjust the jaw tension screw to fit the workpiece before applying locking force to avoid slippage or workpiece damage. Inspect the locking mechanism and jaw surfaces periodically for wear.
