The IPS 513979 is a gas test gauge rated to 60 psi, designed for pressure testing natural gas and propane distribution systems. It connects via a 3/4-inch female iron pipe thread (FIPT) inlet, making it compatible with standard iron pipe fittings commonly found in residential and light commercial gas piping. Licensed plumbers and gas fitters use this gauge to verify system pressure after new installations, repairs, or appliance changeovers. The 60 psi range covers the full scope of typical low-pressure and medium-pressure gas line testing requirements.
This gauge is suited for residential and light commercial gas piping applications, including natural gas and propane supply lines. It is commonly used during rough-in inspections, pressure decay tests, and post-repair leak checks on gas distribution systems. The 3/4-inch FIPT inlet threads directly onto standard test points, valve bodies, or tee fittings without adapters in most residential piping configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and service tool for residential and light commercial gas pressure testing applications using standard 3/4-inch iron pipe thread connections.
Installation and use of gas test gauges should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified gas fitter in accordance with local codes and the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC). Shut off the gas supply and relieve system pressure before connecting or disconnecting the gauge. Apply an appropriate thread sealant rated for gas service to the FIPT connection before threading onto the test point. Never exceed the rated 60 psi maximum pressure on this gauge.
