The IPEX 9887050 is a CPVC Schedule 80 threaded nipple designed to connect two female threaded (FPT) fittings in industrial and commercial piping systems. Measuring 2 inches in diameter and 5 inches in length, this nipple is manufactured from Xirtec CPVC material, rated for a maximum service temperature of 200 degrees F under pressure with occasional exposure to boiling water at 212 degrees F. The material carries a design stress rating of 2,000 psi at 73 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in systems where corrosion resistance and thermal performance are critical requirements.
This CPVC Schedule 80 nipple is suited for use in hot and cold water distribution, chemical handling, and industrial process piping where metal corrosion is a concern. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-demand commercial and light industrial applications. Both ends are male threaded (MPT) to mate with female threaded fittings on either side of the connection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems using 2-inch female threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before making or breaking any threaded connections. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape rated for use with plastic pipe and fittings. Do not use petroleum-based compounds or sealants that can degrade CPVC material.
