The IPEX 9861137 is a CPVC Schedule 80 threaded nipple designed to connect two female threaded (FPT) fittings in pressurized piping systems. Measuring 1 inch in diameter and 5 inches in length, this nipple is manufactured from Xirtec CPVC material with a design stress rating of 2,000 psi at 73 degrees F. It handles maximum service temperatures up to 200 degrees F under sustained pressure, with tolerance for occasional exposure to boiling water at 212 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in commercial and industrial plumbing, chemical distribution, and hot and cold water systems where corrosion resistance and long service life are required.
This Schedule 80 CPVC nipple is suited for pressurized hot and cold water lines, industrial process piping, and chemical handling systems where metal fittings are prone to corrosion or scaling. The threaded ends mate with standard FPT connections, making it a direct-fit solution in existing threaded CPVC or compatible piping assemblies. Its compact 5-inch length fills short runs and offsets between valves, unions, and other FPT-threaded components in tight mechanical spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded nipple for use with standard Schedule 80 CPVC female threaded fittings in residential and commercial pressurized piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removal or installation of any threaded fitting. Apply a CPVC-compatible thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not use solvent-based sealants, pipe dopes, or thread compounds that are not rated for CPVC, as incompatible chemicals can cause stress cracking.
