The IPEX 9861136 is a CPVC Schedule 80 threaded nipple designed to connect two female-threaded (FPT) fittings in industrial and commercial piping systems. Manufactured from Xirtec CPVC compound, this nipple carries a design stress rating of 2,000 psi at 73 degrees F and a maximum service temperature of 200 degrees F under continuous pressure conditions. The 1-inch nominal diameter by 4-inch length configuration suits close-coupled connections where a short rigid run is required between two FPT ports. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this component in chemical processing, hot water distribution, and industrial process lines.
This nipple is suited for residential and commercial hot and cold water distribution, industrial process piping, and chemical handling systems where corrosion resistance and elevated temperature performance are required. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides extra pressure capability compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-demand service conditions. Its all-threaded construction on both ends allows direct makeup into any standard NPT female-threaded fitting or valve body.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for Schedule 80 CPVC threaded piping systems using standard NPT female-threaded connections.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Isolate and depressurize the line and drain standing water before removing any existing fitting or nipple. Apply an appropriate CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape to the male threads before makeup; do not use sealants formulated for metal pipe only, as they may degrade CPVC. Follow applicable plumbing codes, including IPC and local amendments, for thread engagement minimums and pressure testing requirements after installation.
