The IPEX 9861135 is a Schedule 80 CPVC threaded nipple designed to connect two female threaded (FPT) fittings in pressurized piping systems. Sized at 1 inch by 3 inches, it is manufactured from Xirtec CPVC material rated for a maximum continuous service temperature of 200 degrees F under pressure, with occasional exposure to boiling water at 212 degrees F. The design stress of CPVC at 73 degrees F is 2,000 psi, making it well suited for demanding hot and cold water distribution, chemical handling, and industrial process lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this nipple as a standard threaded connector between valves, unions, tees, and other FPT components.
This nipple is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing, industrial process piping, and chemical distribution systems where corrosion resistance and elevated temperature performance are required. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides additional pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it a common choice in mechanical rooms, boiler feed lines, and hot water recirculation systems. It is not intended for gas service.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard install component for CPVC Schedule 80 threaded piping systems using 1-inch female threaded fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. Apply CPVC-compatible thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not use pipe dope or solvents that are not rated for CPVC, as they can cause stress cracking or fitting failure.
