The IPEX 9861134 is a Schedule 80 CPVC threaded nipple rated for maximum service temperatures up to 200 degrees F under pressure, with occasional exposure to boiling water at 212 degrees F. Measuring 1 inch by 2 inches, this close nipple connects two female threaded (FPT) fittings in hot and cold water distribution, chemical handling, and industrial piping systems. CPVC construction delivers a design stress of 2,000 psi at 73 degrees F, making it suitable for pressure applications where corrosion resistance and thermal stability are required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, as well as industrial fluid handling lines where CPVC Schedule 80 pipe and fittings are specified. Its threaded ends accept standard FPT connections, allowing direct makeup into Schedule 80 fittings, valves, and equipment. The 1 inch by 2 inch size fits common branch and riser configurations where a short threaded extension is needed between two female-threaded components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems using NPT-threaded fittings, valves, and equipment in plumbing and industrial fluid handling applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable edition of the IPC or locally adopted plumbing code. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before removing or installing any threaded pipe component. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for use with CPVC to all male threads before makeup. Do not use pipe wrenches or excessive torque that could crack or stress the CPVC body.
