The IPEX 9861109 is a CPVC Schedule 80 threaded nipple designed to connect two female-threaded (FPT) fittings in pressurized piping systems. Manufactured from Xirtec CPVC, this nipple is rated for a maximum service temperature of 200 degrees F under pressure and carries a design stress of 2,000 psi at 73 degrees F. It measures 0.75 inches in diameter and 6 inches in length. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in hot and cold water supply systems, industrial process lines, and chemical distribution applications where corrosion resistance and thermal performance are required.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, as well as industrial installations where iron or steel pipe would be vulnerable to corrosion. Its all-threaded construction allows it to serve as a close connector between two FPT fittings without requiring solvent cement at the connection points. The Xirtec CPVC material resists rust, pitting, scaling, and corrosion on both interior and exterior surfaces, making it a durable choice for demanding service environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems using 0.75-inch female-threaded connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before making up the joint — do not use solvent cement on threaded connections. Hand-tighten first, then use a pipe wrench to bring the joint to a firm, leak-free makeup without over-stressing the CPVC threads.
