The IPEX 9861107 is a CPVC Schedule 80 threaded nipple designed to connect two female threaded (FPT) fittings in pressurized piping systems. Manufactured from Xirtec CPVC material, it carries a maximum service temperature of 200 degrees F under pressure, with occasional tolerance up to 212 degrees F. The design stress rating is 2,000 psi at 73 degrees F. At 0.75 inches in diameter and 4 inches in length, this nipple is sized for tight-space installations where a short, rigid threaded connection is needed. Licensed plumbers and pipe fitters install this type of fitting in hot and cold water distribution, chemical handling, and industrial process lines.
This nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing installations where CPVC Schedule 80 piping is specified. Typical applications include domestic hot water supply lines, industrial fluid handling systems, and any pressurized system requiring corrosion-resistant thermoplastic pipe connections. The CPVC construction makes it a practical choice in environments where metal piping would be vulnerable to rust, pitting, or chemical attack. It threads directly into standard FPT fittings on both ends without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for CPVC Schedule 80 threaded piping systems using standard 0.75-inch FPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Use a thread sealant rated for CPVC and thermoplastic pipe — do not use petroleum-based compounds, which can degrade CPVC. Avoid over-tightening, as CPVC threads can crack under excessive torque from pipe wrenches.
