The IPEX 9861105 is a CPVC Schedule 80 threaded nipple designed to connect two female-threaded (FPT) fittings in industrial and commercial piping systems. Manufactured from Xirtec CPVC, this nipple carries a maximum service temperature of 200 degrees F (93 degrees C) under pressure, with tolerance for occasional exposure to boiling water at 212 degrees F (100 degrees C). The material is rated to a design stress of 2,000 psi at 73 degrees F (23 degrees C). Its nominal size is 0.75 inches by 1.5 inches. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in hot and cold water, chemical handling, and industrial fluid systems.
The 9861105 is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, industrial process piping, and chemical distribution lines where corrosion resistance and thermal tolerance are required. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides additional pressure-bearing capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-demand service runs. The FPT-to-FPT configuration allows direct connection between two internally threaded components without additional adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for CPVC Schedule 80 piping systems using 0.75-inch female-threaded connections.
Installation of CPVC threaded nipples should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for CPVC piping. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape rated for use with plastic fittings; do not use petroleum-based compounds, which can degrade CPVC. Avoid over-tightening, as excessive torque can crack CPVC threads.
