The IPEX 9854040 is a 4-inch CPVC Schedule 80 Van Stone flange fitting designed for demanding industrial and commercial piping systems. This two-piece assembly consists of a connector hub and a separate CPVC flange ring, allowing the flange ring to rotate freely for bolt-hole alignment during installation. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC via injection molding to ASTM F1970, the fitting carries a pressure rating of 2000 PSI at 73 degrees F and a temperature rating of 210 degrees F. The female socket end connection accepts standard 4-inch Schedule 80 CPVC pipe. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters are the typical installers for this fitting class.
This flange fitting is suited for a wide range of corrosive and high-purity fluid applications including chemical processing, industrial plating, chilled water distribution, deionized water lines, chemical drainage, and wastewater treatment systems. Its CPVC construction resists rust, scaling, pitting, and corrosion, making it appropriate for aggressive chemical environments where metal flanges would degrade. The light gray finish and non-metallic composition also eliminate concerns about galvanic corrosion at the flange face.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 4-inch Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems conforming to ASTM F1970 and ANSI B16.5 flange dimensional standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes and the manufacturer's solvent-cement joining procedures. Depressurize and drain the line completely before cutting into an existing system. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer when making the socket connection; do not use PVC-only formulations on CPVC fittings. Torque flange bolts evenly in a cross pattern to avoid distorting the flange face, and always install a compatible gasket between mating flange surfaces.
