The IPEX 9850010 is a 1-inch CPVC Schedule 80 male threaded plug designed to seal the end of a female threaded piping run. Made from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this fitting handles maximum service temperatures up to 200 degrees F under pressure, with occasional exposure to boiling water at 212 degrees F. The material carries a design stress rating of 2,000 psi at 73 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding industrial and commercial plumbing applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting wherever a secure, corrosion-resistant termination point is needed on a threaded CPVC line.
This plug is used in residential and commercial hot and cold water distribution systems, chemical process piping, and industrial fluid handling where CPVC is the specified material. It threads directly into any standard 1-inch female NPT CPVC fitting or socket to terminate a piping run cleanly. Its Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure and impact resistance compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-demand mechanical rooms, industrial process lines, and corrosive-environment installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1-inch female NPT threaded CPVC Schedule 80 piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before installing or removing any threaded plug. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape rated for thermoplastic fittings — do not use petroleum-based compounds that can degrade CPVC. Avoid over-tightening, which can crack the fitting body.
