The IPEX 9847040 is a 4-inch CPVC Schedule 80 socket cap designed for industrial and commercial piping systems that handle aggressive chemicals, high temperatures, or treated water. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC to ASTM F439 and injection molded with a dome-head socket end, this cap terminates pipe runs with a solvent-cemented, leak-free seal. It carries a pressure rating of 2000 PSI at 73 degrees F and a temperature rating of 210 degrees F, making it well suited for demanding process environments. The light gray finish is standard for Schedule 80 CPVC fittings. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this fitting as part of solvent-cement piping assemblies.
This socket cap is appropriate for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications, including chemical processing, industrial plating, chilled water distribution, deionized water lines, chemical drainage, and wastewater treatment systems. Its CPVC construction resists corrosion from acids, bases, and oxidizing agents that would degrade metal or standard PVC fittings. The fitting meets ANSI/NSF 14/61 standards, making it acceptable for use in potable water contact applications where those standards are required by local code. Packaged in quantities of five per unit.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for 4-inch CPVC Schedule 80 solvent-cement piping systems conforming to ASTM F439 standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM D2846 or ASTM F493 solvent-cement procedures for CPVC. De-pressurize and drain the piping system fully before cutting into an existing line or removing an existing fitting. Use only CPVC-compatible solvent cement and primer; do not substitute PVC cement, as it is not rated for CPVC thermoplastics. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer's instructions before restoring pressure to the system.
