The IPEX 9847030 is a 3-inch CPVC Schedule 80 socket cap designed to terminate the end of a piping run in demanding industrial and commercial plumbing systems. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC via injection molding and finished in light gray, this dome-head cap meets ASTM F439 and ANSI/NSF 14/61 standards. It carries a pressure rating of 2000 psi at 73 degrees F and a temperature rating of 210 degrees F, making it suitable for high-pressure and elevated-temperature service conditions. The socket end connection is joined using solvent cement, producing a leak-free, maintenance-free seal. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting where a permanent, chemically resistant pipe termination is required.
This cap is used across a wide range of industrial and commercial applications including chemical processing, industrial plating, chilled water distribution, deionized water lines, chemical drainage, and wastewater treatment systems. Its CPVC construction resists corrosion and chemical attack, making it a reliable choice where metal fittings would degrade. Each package contains 5 caps. The fitting is well suited for both above-ground and underground installations where broad temperature range performance and superior hydraulic characteristics are needed.
Designed for use with 3-inch CPVC Schedule 80 piping systems in chemical processing, industrial plating, chilled water distribution, deionized water, chemical drainage, and wastewater treatment applications conforming to ASTM F439 standards.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or industrial pipefitters. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before cutting or fitting any pipe section. Use a CPVC-compatible solvent cement and primer as specified by the manufacturer and applicable plumbing codes; do not substitute PVC cement. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer's instructions before restoring pressure to the system.
