The IPEX 9847015 is a 1-1/2 inch CPVC Schedule 80 socket cap designed for use in industrial and commercial piping systems where chemical resistance and long-term durability are required. Manufactured from Corzan chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this fitting provides a secure, permanent end closure for Schedule 80 pipe runs. It is engineered to IPEX dimensional and performance standards, ensuring consistent fit and reliable service in demanding process environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in systems handling acids, alcohols, alkalies, salt solutions, and halogens, where metal fittings would be subject to corrosion or electrochemical degradation.
This socket cap is suited for chemical process piping, industrial fluid handling, and other applications requiring resistance to a broad range of aggressive media. It is appropriate for both above-ground and underground installations, where soil corrosion and galvanic corrosion are concerns. The Corzan CPVC material is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for potable water service, expanding its range of approved applications. It is part of the IPEX Corzan Schedule 80 PVF system, which includes compatible pipe, valves, and fittings produced to uniform dimensional standards by a single manufacturer.
Designed for use with 1-1/2 inch CPVC Schedule 80 pipe as part of the IPEX Corzan pipe, valves, and fittings system. Intended for industrial and chemical process piping installations using solvent-cement socket connections standard to Schedule 80 CPVC systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with CPVC solvent-cement joining procedures and applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Isolate and fully depressurize the piping system before cutting or capping any line. Use only CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement — do not substitute PVC cement, as it is not compatible with CPVC material. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer's instructions before returning the system to service.
