The IPEX 9839249 is a Schedule 80 CPVC flush-style reducing bushing with a male threaded (MPT) by female threaded (FPT) connection type. It steps down from a 2-inch male thread to a 1-inch female thread, making it a direct-install fitting for downsizing pipe runs within a CPVC distribution system. Rated for a maximum service temperature of 200 degrees F under pressure, with tolerance for occasional exposure to boiling water at 212 degrees F, this bushing suits hot and cold water systems in demanding industrial and commercial applications. CPVC Schedule 80 fittings of this type are installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters where chemical resistance and thermal performance are required.
This reducing bushing is designed for use in CPVC Schedule 80 piping systems handling hot and cold water, as well as many industrial fluid applications. The flush-style body keeps the fitting compact within tight assemblies. It is commonly used in commercial plumbing, industrial process piping, and chemical distribution lines where CPVC is specified for its corrosion resistance and thermal stability. The MPT x FPT thread configuration allows it to be threaded directly into Schedule 80 CPVC fittings or compatible female-threaded components without additional adapters.
Designed for use with CPVC Schedule 80 piping systems. Intended for integration into Xirtec CPVC piping systems using standard NPT-compatible threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for CPVC threaded fittings. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing any existing fitting or threading in the bushing. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape rated for thermoplastic fittings — do not use petroleum-based compounds, which can degrade CPVC. Avoid overtightening, as excessive torque can crack Schedule 80 threaded fittings.
