The IPEX 9839247 is a CPVC Schedule 80 reducing bushing designed to step down pipe size within a threaded CPVC piping system. It connects via a male threaded (MPT) inlet to a female threaded (FPT) outlet and installs in a flush-style configuration. Built from Xirtec CPVC, the bushing is rated for continuous service up to 200 degrees F under pressure, with a design stress of 2,000 psi at 73 degrees F. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in industrial, commercial, and mechanical systems where a threaded size reduction is required without adding external flange or socket depth.
This reducing bushing is suited for use in Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems handling hot and cold water, chemical process lines, and industrial fluid distribution. The flush-style body keeps the transition compact within tight mechanical spaces. It is a direct threaded fitting that does not require solvent cement, making it appropriate where disassembly or future serviceability is a consideration in the system design.
Designed for use with Xirtec CPVC Schedule 80 threaded piping systems. Fitting dimensions conform to Schedule 80 standards for 2 inches x 1/2 inches threaded reducing bushings.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for CPVC and the fluid being conveyed. Do not over-torque threaded CPVC fittings, as excessive force can crack the fitting body; follow the fitting manufacturer threading guidelines and applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements.
