The IPEX 9839211 is a Schedule 80 CPVC flush-style reducer bushing with a male threaded (MPT) by female threaded (FPT) connection type, designed to step down pipe size within a CPVC pressure piping system. It transitions from a 1-1/2 inch male thread to a 1 inch female thread. Rated for a maximum service temperature of 200 degrees F under pressure, with occasional exposure to 212 degrees F, and a design stress of 2,000 psi at 73 degrees F, this bushing is suited for demanding hot and cold water, chemical handling, and industrial fluid systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This bushing is intended for use in CPVC Schedule 80 threaded piping systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications. It is a flush-style reduction fitting, making it appropriate for tight-clearance installations where a standard hex bushing would not fit. It is a component of the Xirtec CPVC piping system and is used wherever a threaded size reduction is needed along the run.
Designed for use within the Xirtec CPVC Schedule 80 threaded piping system as an OEM-style reducer bushing for 1-1/2 inch to 1 inch threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not use solvent cements or pipe dopes that are not rated for CPVC, as incompatible compounds can cause stress cracking.
