The IPEX 9839073 is a Schedule 80 CPVC flush-style reducer bushing with a male threaded (MPT) by female threaded (FPT) connection. It steps down from 1/2 inches to 3/8 inches and is designed for use in pressure-rated thermoplastic piping systems. Rated for a maximum service temperature of 200 degrees F under pressure, with occasional tolerance for boiling water at 212 degrees F, this bushing is suited for hot and cold water distribution, industrial process lines, and chemical handling applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial piping systems where a threaded size reduction is needed within a CPVC distribution network. The flush-style body keeps the transition compact, making it practical in tight spaces or manifold assemblies. It is a standard fitting in chemical process piping, potable water systems, and industrial fluid handling where CPVC is specified for its corrosion resistance and temperature tolerance.
Designed for use in CPVC Schedule 80 threaded piping systems. Intended to connect with standard 1/2 inches MPT and 3/8 inches FPT threaded fittings within a compatible CPVC distribution system.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape rated for thermoplastic fittings. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as excess torque can crack Schedule 80 CPVC fittings.
