The IPEX 9838212 is a CPVC Schedule 80 spigot x female reducing bushing sized at 1-1/2 inches by 1-1/4 inches, manufactured under the Corzan CPVC system. It is engineered to reduce pipe diameter within industrial and commercial piping systems handling aggressive media including acids, alcohols, alkalies, salt solutions, and halogens. The Corzan CPVC compound delivers exceptional chemical resistance and operates across a broad service temperature range, making it a reliable long-term alternative to carbon steel, stainless, and other metal piping components. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting in chemical process lines, industrial fluid handling, and potable water systems.
This bushing is suited for industrial and commercial piping applications where corrosion resistance, chemical compatibility, and extended service life are required. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides increased pressure-bearing capability compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-demand process piping installations. It is also approved for potable water service as listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International, expanding its suitability into water treatment and food-grade process environments. The fitting is part of IPEX's complete Corzan Pipe, Valves and Fittings package, which is designed, produced, and backed by a single manufacturer to ensure consistent dimensional and performance standards throughout the system.
Designed for use within the IPEX Corzan CPVC Schedule 80 Pipe, Valves and Fittings system. Intended for industrial chemical process piping, potable water systems, and other applications requiring CPVC Schedule 80 spigot x female threaded reducing connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes including the IPC and relevant ASTM standards for CPVC solvent-cement joining. Shut off system flow and depressurize the line before cutting or disassembling any fitting. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings. Do not use pipe dope, Teflon tape, or tools or solvents intended for PVC, as these are not compatible with CPVC joining procedures.
