The IPEX 9838210 is a CPVC Schedule 80 spigot x female threaded bushing used to reduce a 1-1/2 inch spigot connection down to a 3/4 inch female thread. Manufactured from Corzan chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this bushing is engineered for industrial and chemical process piping systems where corrosion resistance and long service life are critical. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides additional pressure-handling capability compared to Schedule 40. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in systems handling acids, alcohols, alkalies, salt solutions, and halogens, as well as potable water applications.
This bushing is suited for industrial process piping, chemical handling systems, and commercial plumbing installations where metal fittings are susceptible to corrosion or galvanic degradation. It is part of the IPEX Corzan PVF (Pipe, Valves and Fittings) system, which is designed, produced, and backed by a single manufacturer to ensure consistent dimensional and performance standards across all components. It is also appropriate for potable water systems, having been evaluated to National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International standards for CPVC materials.
Designed as an OEM-style component within the IPEX Corzan Schedule 80 CPVC piping system. Compatible with other Schedule 80 CPVC pipe and fittings that conform to standard spigot and female-threaded dimensional specifications for 1-1/2 inch to 3/4 inch reductions.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with CPVC solvent-cementing procedures and applicable codes including the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing piping. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer on the spigot connection; do not substitute PVC cement. The threaded female end should be assembled with PTFE thread tape or an appropriate thread sealant compatible with CPVC.
