The IPEX 9838101 is a Schedule 80 CPVC spigot x female threaded bushing designed to reduce a 3/4-inch line down to a 1/2-inch female connection in industrial and commercial piping systems. Manufactured from Corzan chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this fitting delivers exceptional resistance to a broad range of corrosive chemicals, including acids, alcohols, alkalies, salt solutions, and halogens. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure-bearing capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for demanding process piping environments. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting in chemical process lines, potable water systems, and other fluid-handling applications where metal fittings would corrode or require excessive maintenance.
This bushing is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial piping applications where a threaded female outlet is needed at a reduced diameter. Typical installations include chemical processing lines, water treatment systems, industrial fluid distribution, and any application requiring a durable, corrosion-resistant transition between pipe sizes. The Corzan CPVC material makes this fitting well suited for underground installations where corrosive soil conditions and galvanic or electrochemical corrosion would degrade metal fittings over time. It integrates with IPEX Corzan pipe, valves, and fittings as part of a single-manufacturer pipe, valves, and fittings system.
Designed for use within the IPEX Corzan CPVC pipe, valves, and fittings system. Compatible with Schedule 80 CPVC piping in chemical process and industrial fluid-handling applications. Potable water suitability confirmed through NSF and CSA International listings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for CPVC solvent-cement joints. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Use only CPVC-compatible solvent cement and primer rated for Schedule 80 fittings. Do not apply excessive torque to the threaded female connection, as CPVC threads are more susceptible to stress cracking than metal threads.
