The IPEX 9838073 is a CPVC Schedule 80 reducer bushing with a spigot inlet and female socket outlet, sized at 1/2 inch by 3/8 inch. It is part of the IPEX Corzan CPVC system, a fully integrated pipe, valves, and fittings (PVF) line engineered and manufactured to consistent quality and dimensional standards by a single source. This bushing is used to reduce pipe size within an industrial or chemical process piping system. It is designed for environments where metal corrosion, chemical exposure, or galvanic degradation would degrade a metal fitting. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting in above-ground and underground piping systems where chemical resistance and long service life are required.
This bushing is suited for industrial process piping, chemical distribution systems, and potable water applications where CPVC Schedule 80 components are specified. The Corzan CPVC material is listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for potable water use, making it appropriate for both process and water service lines. It is engineered to handle a broad range of service temperatures and performs reliably in underground installations where corrosive soil conditions or electrochemical and galvanic corrosion would compromise metal piping.
Designed for use within IPEX Corzan CPVC Schedule 80 pipe, valves, and fittings systems. Compatible with Schedule 80 CPVC piping assemblies used in chemical process, industrial, and potable water applications where a 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch spigot-to-female reduction is required.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or industrial pipefitters using standard CPVC solvent-cement joining procedures. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting or joining any fittings. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer rated for Schedule 80 applications; do not substitute PVC cement. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before restoring pressure to the line.
