The IPEX 9838072 is a CPVC Schedule 80 reducing bushing with a spigot inlet and female threaded outlet, transitioning from 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch. It is part of the Corzan CPVC pipe, valves, and fittings system, engineered to meet industrial and chemical process piping requirements. This fitting provides exceptional resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and a broad range of chemicals including acids, alcohols, alkalies, salt solutions, and halogens. Designed to outlast common metal alternatives, it is well suited for demanding service environments where long-term, low-maintenance performance is critical. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this component as part of complete thermoplastic piping systems.
This bushing is intended for use in industrial process piping, chemical handling systems, and other applications where standard metal fittings are vulnerable to corrosion or electrochemical degradation. The Corzan CPVC material resists naturally corrosive soil conditions, making it appropriate for underground installations as well as above-grade industrial runs. It is also approved for potable water service as listed with NSF and CSA International, expanding its range of applicable installations beyond strictly industrial settings.
Designed as an OEM-style component within the IPEX Corzan CPVC Schedule 80 pipe, valves, and fittings system, engineered and dimensioned to IPEX quality and performance standards for use with compatible Schedule 80 CPVC piping.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems and applicable codes including IPC and ASTM standards for CPVC. Shut off system pressure and drain the line completely before cutting or joining any fitting. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings and follow manufacturer cure time guidelines before returning the system to service. Do not use tools or adhesives intended for PVC or other thermoplastic systems, as material compatibility affects joint integrity.
