The IPEX 9837337 is a CPVC Schedule 80 hex head reducing bushing with a spigot x socket (SPXS) end connection. It steps a 3-inch line down to a 1.5-inch socket for use in industrial and commercial piping systems carrying corrosive chemicals, deionized water, chilled water, or wastewater. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC per ASTM F439 via injection molding, this bushing is rated to 2000 psi at 73 degrees F and a maximum service temperature of 210 degrees F. The light gray finish and ANSI/NSF 14/61 compliance make it a code-acceptable choice for potable and process water lines. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters are the primary installers.
This bushing is suited for a range of industrial and commercial applications including chemical processing, industrial plating, chilled water distribution, deionized water lines, chemical drainage, and wastewater treatment systems. Its CPVC construction resists a wide spectrum of corrosive media where standard PVC or metallic fittings would degrade. The hex head profile allows for tool-assisted installation in tight assemblies. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides additional mechanical strength and pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-demand piping configurations in both above-ground and underground service.
Designed as an OEM-style CPVC Schedule 80 reducing bushing for industrial and commercial piping systems requiring a 3-inch spigot to 1.5-inch socket transition in solvent-cemented CPVC assemblies.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified industrial pipefitters following ASTM and applicable local plumbing codes. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Clean and dry both mating surfaces thoroughly before applying CPVC-compatible solvent cement; do not use PVC cement on CPVC fittings. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer's instructions before returning the system to service pressure.
