The IPEX 9837292 is a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing flush bushing designed to transition from a 2.5-inch pipe to a 2-inch socket in pressurized piping systems. The spigot x slip end connection allows the bushing to insert directly into a standard socket fitting on the larger end while accepting a slip-fit pipe on the smaller end. Injection molded from CPVC compound meeting ASTM D1784 Class 4-1 (Type IV, Grade 1), this fitting is rated for hot and cold water service and carries NSF 14/61 certification for potable water contact. The hex outer diameter measures 2-31/32 inches for wrench engagement during installation.
This bushing is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, irrigation, pool and spa, and industrial process piping wherever a Schedule 80 CPVC reducing connection is required. Its flush-style profile keeps the fitting compact within tight assemblies. Typical applications include potable water distribution, chemical handling lines, and pool or spa equipment plumbing where higher pressure ratings and chemical resistance of Schedule 80 CPVC are specified over Schedule 40 PVC.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems in plumbing, irrigation, pool and spa, and industrial applications requiring NSF 14/61 compliant potable water fittings.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing line. Use only CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer per the adhesive manufacturer instructions, as standard PVC cement is not appropriate for CPVC fittings. Allow full cure time before pressurizing the system.
