The IPEX 9837249 is a CPVC Schedule 80 spigot x socket bushing used to reduce a 2-inch spigot connection down to a 1-inch socket connection in industrial and commercial piping systems. Manufactured from Corzan chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this bushing delivers strong resistance to a wide range of chemicals including acids, alcohols, alkalies, salt solutions, and halogens. It is engineered to IPEX dimensional and performance standards for consistent fitment and pressure integrity. Plumbers and pipefitters working in chemical processing, industrial fluid handling, and potable water systems install this fitting as a direct-thread reducer in Schedule 80 configurations.
This bushing is suited for industrial and commercial piping applications where corrosive media, elevated service temperatures, or aggressive soil conditions rule out metal fittings. Typical use cases include chemical process lines, industrial water systems, and potable water distribution where NSF and CSA International listings are required. Its smooth interior bore maintains flow efficiency compared to metal alternatives that can rust, pit, or scale over time. Corzan CPVC fittings are appropriate where extended service life and low maintenance are priorities over metal construction.
Designed as an OEM-style Schedule 80 CPVC reducer bushing compatible with IPEX Corzan pipe, valves, and fittings systems engineered for chemical process and industrial piping applications.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters trained in thermoplastic piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. Solvent cement joining of CPVC Schedule 80 fittings must use a CPVC-rated primer and cement applied per the cement manufacturer's instructions and applicable plumbing code requirements. Do not use standard PVC solvent cement on CPVC fittings, as the materials are not chemically compatible.
