The IPEX 9837247 is a CPVC Schedule 80 spigot x socket bushing used to reduce a 2-inch spigot connection down to a 1/2-inch socket connection in industrial and commercial piping systems. Manufactured from Corzan chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this bushing delivers exceptional chemical resistance and maintains structural integrity across a broad service temperature range. It is engineered to IPEX dimensional and performance standards, making it a direct-fit component within the Corzan pipe, valves, and fittings system. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in chemical process lines, industrial fluid handling systems, and potable water applications where corrosion resistance and long service life are required.
This bushing is suited for industrial piping installations where reduction of pipe diameter is needed at a transition point. Its Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure-bearing capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for demanding process environments involving acids, alcohols, alkalies, salt solutions, and halogens. It is also listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International for use in potable water systems, broadening its range of acceptable applications beyond purely industrial use.
Designed for use within the IPEX Corzan CPVC Schedule 80 pipe, valves, and fittings system for industrial chemical process and potable water piping applications.
Installation of CPVC Schedule 80 fittings should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with solvent-cement joining procedures for CPVC systems. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing any existing fittings or cutting pipe. Use only CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement — do not substitute PVC cement, as it is not rated for CPVC material. Follow local plumbing codes and manufacturer joining instructions for cure times before returning the system to service.
