The IPEX 9837168 is a CPVC Schedule 80 spigot x socket reducing bushing designed for industrial and chemical process piping systems. This fitting reduces from a 1-1/4 inch spigot end to a 1 inch socket end, allowing trades to transition between pipe sizes within the same CPVC system. Manufactured from Corzan CPVC, it delivers exceptional resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and a broad spectrum of chemicals including acids, alcohols, alkalis, salt solutions, and halogens. The material maintains smooth interior walls over the service life of the fitting, supporting consistent flow without scaling, pitting, or rusting. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting in Schedule 80 CPVC systems where chemical compatibility and long service life are required.
This bushing is suited for use in chemical processing facilities, industrial plants, and other applications where metal piping would be vulnerable to corrosive fluids or aggressive soil conditions. Corzan CPVC is approved for potable water service as listed with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and CSA International, making this fitting applicable in a range of commercial and industrial water handling systems as well. Its lightweight construction relative to metal alternatives simplifies handling and reduces installation labor on larger projects.
Designed for use within CPVC Schedule 80 piping systems as an OEM-style reducing bushing. Compatible with the IPEX Corzan pipe, valves, and fittings product line manufactured to the same dimensional and performance standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, including IPC provisions for plastic piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting into the line or making any fitting connections. Use CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings; do not substitute PVC cement. Allow full cure time before returning the system to service pressure.
